How my autistic brain works
One of my favorite sayings is if you’ve met one person with autism, you’ve met one person with autism. But, maybe my experience is similar to an autistic person you do know and this post will help you understand their life experience better!

You can’t know what you don’t know
As a friend often says, people can’t read your mind. That works both ways, as in people can’t read your mind and you can’t read theirs. When you have an invisible disability like autism, it’s also a challenge in that employers, friends, family, or just the world in general doesn’t know that you might need extra help. So, it’s important to advocate for yourself and ask for what you need to make your life a little easier.

Baby, I was born to run!
For me, running is meditation. It is quiet time when I don’t have to mask, don’t have to be coordinated, don’t have to do anything except put one foot in front of the other. When I run, I am 100% me, autism and all.
